ХУДОЖЕСТВЕННЫЕ ОСОБЕННОСТИ ФРАНЦУЗСКОГО НЕОРОМАНТИЧЕСКОГО ИСТОРИЧЕСКОГО РОМАНА

Abstract
The article considers the historical prerequisites for the emergence and development of the genre of the historical novel in the literature of French neo-romanticism, reveals the features of the continuity of the artistic features of the romantic and neo-romantic historical novel, conditioned by the aesthetic principles of the two directions. Based on the analysis of literary works by N. Litvinenko, the historiographical theories of F. Schleiermacher, O. Spengler, A. de Tocqueville, I. Taine and N.M. Fustel de Coulange, the author of the article determines the features of the neo-romantic historical novel: the synthesis of the past and the present, the combination of different discourses, subjectivity, tragic finale, belonging to the elite literature, exclusivity of heroes, though not of well-known historical personalities, but heroes of local legends.
