ХУДОЖЕСТВЕННЫЕ ПРИЁМЫ В ХАРАКТЕРИСТИКЕ ГЕРОЕВ В МАЛОЙ ПРОЗЕ С.МОЭМА И ДЖ. ФАУЛЗА

Abstract
In this article, we tried to research and compare the manner of writing of two famous English writers S. Maugham and J. Fowles. We noticed that Maugham signed out three components of a style: a simple language, clarity of writing and euphony. But in the novels of Fowles great importance was attached to subtext and paradox in reference to the mythological sources. We noted that in Maugham’s stories a paradox, subtext and irony were revealed in the portrait features of the characters but in the novels of Fowles these signs acquired the importance of secrets and riddles. Both writers could destroy the borders between fiction and reality.
