Abstract
Włodzimierz Kozłowski BEFORE THEY HAVE BECOME COMMANDERS OF 10TH INFANTRY DIVISION (ŁÓDŹ). FRAGMENTS FROM THE BIOGRAPHY FROM THE WORLD WAR I YEARS In the period 1918–1939 the 10th Infantry Division was stationed in Łódź. Its commanders were the generals: Albin Jasiński, Bronisław Babiański, Lucjan Żeligowski, Gustaw Zygadłowicz, Stanisław Nałęcz Małachowski, Józef Olszyna-Wilczyński i Franciszek Dindorf-Ankowicz. Three of them served in the Russian Army (Jasiński, Babiański, Nałęcz Małachowski), two – in the Austro-Hungarian Army (Zygadłowicz and Dindorf-Ankowicz) and one came from the Polish Legions. All of them were devoted patriots and they served for Poland as well as they could. They appropriately prepared the 10th Infantry Division to the defence of the country in September 1939. Two of them were murdered by Soviets (Jasiński and Olszyna-Wilczyński) in the beginning of the World War 2.
