Zasady farmakoterapii w wieku podeszłym

Abstract
Geriatria jest dziedziną związaną z „polisymptomatologią” i wielolekowością, a racjonalne podejście do farmakoterapii osób starszych jest jednym z najistotniejszych aspektów sprawowanej nad nimi opieki lekarskiej. Znajomość opisanych w artykule zjawisk (zmienionej farmakokinetyki i farmakodynamiki, interakcji lekowych, interakcji lek-choroba) pozwala na sformułowanie jasnych zasad stosowania leków u osób w podeszłym wieku, dzięki którym można uniknąć wielu niepowodzeń terapeutycznych i poprawić komfort życia starszych pacjentów.
