Abstract
Lymphoedema has been an increasingly common symptom among patients in the last several years. It may occur due to the treatment of cancer, as a complication after a surgery or a symptom after orthopaedic trauma. Regardless of the reason, you should begin a comprehensive treatment as soon as possible. Manual lymphatic drainage as one of the components of rehabilitation is an effective anti-oedema therapy. This type of massage requires, however, a thorough knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system, manual skills and precision of manipulation.
