Abstract

The authors present an overview of the Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder as one of the reasons for later development of milder forms of mental handicaps. It is well known that ADHD must not necessarily be connected with mental handicaps as the evolution of the syndrom goes through different stages. The paper presents, apart from the classical clinical picture, some new data as to the diagnosis and etiology of the syndrom. The modern treatment is elucidated as well.

Abstract

We have been analyzed (MLP) diagnoses of the children at the age of 8 to 11, with suspicion of developmental sensor dysphasia. We have been looking after the last positive wave Pb and all exanimate children have normal peripheral hearing and speech. We have been made comparisons of that diagnosis's with the control group of the health children on the same age, which have normal hearing and speech. 80% of the examinees did not have positive last wave, which represented coracle answer by the opinion of many authors. In the control group with health children (MLP) diagnosis was normal with the last positive wave Pb of all examinees. The author thinks that diagnosis is significant and represents contribution in the differential diagnosis of the developmental sensor dysphasyes.

Abstract

The psychologist has a very complex task in the team detection of children with developmental disorders from easy variations to complex retardation because of the fact that the development of the children is caused by the dynamics, maturation and finally by the environmental influence. The aim of this presentation is to show the results of the team detection of children with developmental disorders among the population of risky born children recorded and observed in the Developmental Advisory Center in Skopje, compared to the chosen control group of “healthy born children” without pre, pri and post natal problems. The research is of longitudinal (1990-1995) and team character and done according to determined calendar, criteria and methodology. The psychological evaluation in most cases is dynamic, structural and predictive. As psychometric instruments, the developmental scores DTC-M and DTC-P developmental test Cuturic at the age of 3 months to 5 years and after the fifth year W 15 C-intellectual test evaluation were used. The results of the early detection of the developmental disorders were shown on table, manifested as: retardation in the body control and fine manipulative appliance of hands and fingers; sensor disturbances of various grades (hesitation about the retardation in the answers of the visual stimulus and inadequate or absent answer of auditive stimuli); retardation in the development of verbal abilities; retardation in the development of cognitive and sensitive abilities; weak control of the emotions and social deprivacy. All the developmental spheres of various grades are present among children with developmental difficulties. The team detection (clinical records and diagnosis supplemented with psychological findings) was carried out very early which gave possibility to start an adequate and prompt treatment.
