A Case of Myelolipoma Mimicking Adrenal Adenoma

Abstract
Adrenal myelolipoma is a rare hormone inactive tumor of the adrenal gland, which is often detected incidentally. A 52-year-old woman was admitted with a complaint of left flank pain. Computed tomography showed a 5 cm diameter left adrenal mass. The patient was referred to us for an operation with the presumptive diagnosis of adrenal adenoma by the department of endocrinology. The patient underwent laparoscopic adrenalectomy and was discharged without any problem on the third postoperative day. Postoperative specimen pathology was reported as adrenal myelolipoma. Surgical resection is not generally recommended because adrenal myelolipomas are asymptomatic and small in size. However, surgical resection of myelolipoma that is symptomatic and has increased size in their follow-up should be considered.
