Journal Title: The Journal of International Social Research - Year 2015, Vol 8, Issue 39

Abstract

During the Second World War, especially After the invasion off Crete by Germany, the English administration began to take precautions. One of these was to transfer the Nicosia Islamic College to Lapithos. This study aims to put forth the real reason why the Islamic college was transferred to Lapithosand under what conditions the Nicosia Islamic College students were forced to resume their education in Lapithos. The study takes the memories of the students from that period and the English Education report between the years 1942-1945 as footing. In addition, The Halkin Sesi Newspaper of 1942 was taken as a reference. In relation to this the relative book chapters and articles were analysed.
