A COMPARISON OF SORPTION EFFICIENCY OF BASIC VIOLET 10 ONTO CHITOSAN AND FLY ASHES AND SAWDUST IMMOBILIZED ONTO CHITOSAN

Abstract

The course of adsorption curves and calculated values of adsorption capacity point to diversified efficiency of Basic Violet 10 removal depending on the type of sorbent. Data obtained indicate that immobilization of sawdust onto chitosan had a positive effect on the quantity of removed dye, whereas in the case of fly ashes immobilization onto chitosan the quantity of removed dye was substantially lower as compared to absorption capacity obtained both for chitosan and fly ashes.
