A fábrica têxtil em Sorocaba, imprensa operária e educação nos anos de 1889-1914

Abstract
In the end of XIX and beginning of XX centuries, Sorocaba city passed from equidae fair to a vanguard city of industrial production. There are registries of declining in equidae fair, the development of the railways which cooperated to the region with the growing of economic activities, such as textile industries. In this context, the objective of this article is to understand inside of Sitz im Leben regarding Sorocaba’s industrialization through the newspaper “O Operário”, that circulated in 1909 until 1913, the main educational demands and actions, which were part of the labor class formation; to verify the senses given by this Journal to the process of the worker formation and what is the relevance that the school had in this process.
