INTEGRACIÓN REGIONAL E INTEGRACIÓN DE ÁREAS LOCALES

Abstract
This paper aims to discuss concepts about the impacts that are being processed in local areas us a cause from the processes of integration between countries in the region, and from the strategies or approaches that guide a new complementary form of appreciating and encouraging integration at supranational level especially in frontier areas. Two points are covered. First, the characterization of an integrating process, such as the Mercosur; second, regional or local development and the role of the local agent, especially of the public power us a strategy for local development and regional integration. His conclusion expresses that the regional development planning and the development process itself requires a conception, that has sufficient strength to motivate people and release their creative energies in order to improve the life conditions. In frontier areas this policy gains additional potential if it strengthens with the meeting of the border areas of surrounding countries. KEY-WORDS:Border Area,
