A. I. KUPRIN’S CHARACTERS IN THE CONTEXT OF SYNERGETICS
Journal Title: Проблеми сучасного літературознавства - Year 2016, Vol 0, Issue 22
Abstract
The researchers have already proved that all the unstable boundary times have common patterns in their development. Such main features of a transitional period, as instability, impression of ’circumrotation’, lack of prospects and discreteness of ideas, are also peculiar to ideology of people living in those times. Thus, the author’s reference to A. I. Kuprin’s prose is quite natural. She examines his artistic works in the context of synergy, referring to the latest researches in the theoretical field of unbalanced systems. A. I. Kuprin’s heritage is up-to-date for us and carries the distinctive features of ’transitional’ artistic consciousness. It reflects the dissipative outline of unstable thinking, inclination to synthesis of the old way and new, advantages of experiments that are organic for formation of a new picture of the world. His works reveal the sense of crisis and chaos, which represents that period. They also show discreteness of the world, demonstrates ironic attitude to reality, which doesn’t support the idea of harmony as the base of life and amends the priorities of existence (social existence gives way to ethical values). All those features show that during the transitional period of the end of the 19th — beginning of the 20th centuries new person-world relationships are formed, which are also peculiar to our ideologically uncommitted world. General conclusions, made in the article, claim to be universal in a certain way and can be used to analyse present day postmodern texts as the latest phenomena of transitional times.
