A Novel Approach for Reducing Routing Overhead In Mobile Ad hoc Network

Abstract
The Mobile Adhoc Networks(MANET) are the examples of infrastructure less networks and are having frequent occurrence of route discoveries. In MANET, the routing has been performed with the help of neighbouring information. The route discovery of MANET suffers with the broadcast where it involves additional routing overhead with frequent transmission of broadcasting messages to neighbour nodes. The present work proposes new approach for reducing routing overhead (RPO) for MANET .The propose RPO approach computes for determing spread factor. Then the present work proposes a method for calculating rebroadcast probability. This step is further involves the computation of Additional Coverage Ratio (ACR) and Connectivity Factor (CF) single broadcast and CF explains the connectivity relationship of a node. With this information, the proposed method can decreases the transmission rate and routing overhead and thus improves the routing performance.
