A priori and a posteriori clusterization of results of sociological test “Types of Political Culture”: a comparative analysis
Journal Title: Соціологія: теорія, методи, маркетинг - Year 2017, Vol 20, Issue 1
Abstract
The paper is an attempt of improving the sociological test Types of Political Culture (E. Golovakha) in the part of clusterization of respondents. Both the original approach of clusterization (cluster analysis by the method of K-averages), and its alternatives (ideal division point, conceptual typology, latent class analysis) are considered. Descriptive characteristics were used as the aspects of comparison (volume of groups distinguished with the help of various approaches of clusterization; differences of “polar” groups), construct check (based on the analysis of participation in social organizations, level of social anomy, relation to a necessity of strong leaders in the country, multiparty system and economy management) and dynamics of changes of political culture (in 2006 and 2016). Proceeding from the analysis results it is recommended to use conceptual typology for a detailed analysis of the types of political culture, as well as the ideal point of division as its simpler and less precise analogue.
