A Probabilistic Approach of Coverage prediction in Mobile Ad hoc Networks
Journal Title: International Journal on Computer Science and Engineering - Year 2011, Vol 3, Issue 12
Abstract
A fundamental issue arising in mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs) is the selection of the optimal path between any two nodes. It’s very difficult to select of optimal path due to different factors affects the stability of the path. Such as mobility, coverage area, path loss, fading, energy level of the nodes and etc. In this paper we mainly focus the probabilistic approach of coverage area of the mobile nodes using gamma distribution function, and derive the simple approximate expression for coverage area. Based on the results we study the coverage area of the nodes. And we propose the new routing protocol coverage prediction Ad hoc On Demand multipath Distance vector Routing protocol (CPAOMDV). To evaluate their performance, we are using network simulator (NS2). CP-AOMDV outperforms present protocol AOMDV. The result demonstrates that integrating coverage prediction mechanism with AOMDV is a promising way to improve performance in mobile ad hoc networks

A comparative study of wireless mesh and adhoc network : A Cross layer design approach
Due to Wi-Fi marketing 802.11 becomes a universal solution for wireless connectivity. A wireless network is that in which the performance of a network depends on the layering structure of protocol. A wireless network is...
Analysis of Factors Affecting Testing in Object oriented systems
Software testing is an important software quality assurance activity to ensure that the benefits of Object oriented programming will be realized. Testing object oriented systems is little bit challenging as complexity sh...
Performance Evaluation and Optimization of TCP Parameters over Frame Relay Network
The TCP window size value, which is contained in the window size field of the TCP segment is a very important TCP Parameter. The window size value determines the number of bytes of data that can be sent before an acknowl...
Segmentation Based Approach to Dynamic Page Construction from Search Engine Results
The results rendered by the search engines are mostly a linear snippet list. With the prolific increase in the dynamism of web pages there is a need for enhanced result lists from search engines in order to cope-up with...
A Scheduling Approach with Processor and Network Heterogeneity for Grid Environment
Processor heterogeneity is an important issue in grid environment. In this paper, a list based task scheduling algorithm, called “critical path scheduling with t-level” (CPST) for grid computing system is proposed. There...
