A Review on CRISPR/CAS9 And Its Application in Research, Industry and Health Biotechnology
Journal Title: IOSR Journal of Biotechnology and Biochemistry (IOSR-JBB - Year 2018, Vol 4, Issue 3
Abstract
Genome editing is a process that target and break down DNA at specific areas in the genome. In this review we discussed about methods use in gene editing such as Zinc fingers (ZFs), transcription activator-like eff ectors (TALEs) and CRISPR /Cas9 but the main focused was CRISPR /Cas9 in which we discussed about its application in research, industry and health biotechnology. In conclusion CRISPR /Cas9 can be used in treatment of cancer, HIV, sickle cell, antimicrobial resistance and other diseases.
