Journal Title: Söylem Filoloji Dergisi - Year 2016, Vol 1, Issue 1
Abstract
Semiotics, which is a method used in examining the literary texts, demonstrates the formation of the meaning layers based on the mutual correlations of the concepts of “signifier” and “signified”. Considering the approach of Greimas, the comprehension which is represented on the form and content plane layered from the superficial structure to the deep structure in literary texts, comes with certain terminological expressions in the context of perception and meaning unity. In the study, the story of Mustafa Kutlu called “Eşik”, will be analyzed under the subheadings of the descriptive level, narrative level, thematic level generated by these discourses; and the status of the initiator event of the story in particular will be scrutinized in the article.
