A study and ranking of factors affecting information technology innovation adoption in Municipality of Shiraz

Abstract
The aim of the present study is identification and ranking of factors affecting IT innovation adoption in the Municipality of Shiraz. The present study is an applied study of survey type in terms of objective. The population of the study consists of 505 employees working in different departments of the municipality of Shiraz. As the population is in the Shiraz Municipality, the sampling was done using simple random sampling. Based on Morgan’s table, the sample consists of 230 individuals who were selected using simple random sampling. The data collection tool in this study is a standard questionnaire adopted from the study by Yaghoubi et al. with 49 closed questions. The validity of the measurement tool is logical validity of content validity type in which the quality and quantity of the questions were explored and verified by experts and professors. The overall reliability of the questionnaire calculated using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient is equal to 0.831. One sample t-test and Friedman test were used for ranking the variables. The results of the study indicate that internal and environment characteristics and the individual characteristics of the employees affect the adoption of IT innovation in the municipality of Shiraz in a positive and significant way.
