A STUDY ON THE EFFECT OF SOCIAL LOAFING EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE LEVEL

Abstract

Managers always try to think of ways to improve the motivation and performance of employees. In today’s competitive and dynamic conditions, to motivate its employees and to prevent performance losses are vitally important for enterprises. At present time, team work gains importance in organizations, so preventing social loafing becomes significant among managers. Social loafing is that people perform less effort in a team work compared to the situation when they work individually. In this research, it is aimed to assert the impact of social loafing to the performance levels of employees. Out of 200 questionnaires distributed, 142 valid questionnaires returned. Obtained data is analyzed via the Regression Analysis, the Correlation Analysis and the Exploratory Factor Analysis. As a result, it is found that social loafing affects the performance levels of employees.
