Journal Title: International Research Journal of Applied and Basic Sciences - Year 2014, Vol 8, Issue 6
Abstract
Human is always encountering with the limitation of production factors, products and services. Therefore he has no choice of optimal use of existing facilities and access to higher quality productions in order to obtain better living conditions. Now something that clearly answers this need is obtaining the maximum result from facilities and production factors or in one word the “efficiency”. Data envelopment analysis (DEA) offers an appropriate method for evaluating the efficiency of homogeneous units. Indeed, models of DEA classify the decision-making units into the efficient and inefficient units. This paper uses DEA method to obtain the efficiency of Mellat Bank’s superior branches for the period 2011-12. Finally the efficiency of branches in two years was compared to each other.
