Abstract
This research had the objective of verifying how a Hospital Class of a public hospital of Santa Maria (Rio Grande do Sul – Brazil) is structured and organized for the educational attendance of targeted student-patients of Special Education, in order to contribute to accessibility in hospital environment. This study, a qualitative study case type, relied on Bardin’s (2011) content analysis. Observation and semistructured interviews with the pedagogical coordinator, the scholarship holders of the Educational Sector and two mothers of students in health care were carried out. A low vision boy and a high skill/gifted one received educational attendance from 2014 to 2015, with pedagogical and attitudinal accessibility for both. However, deficient aspects in relation to architectonic and communication accessibility to attend the students with physical, audition and visual deficiencies were observed.
