Achievements and Determinants of Inclusive Growth in Asean Countries
Journal Title: International Journal of Business and Management Invention - Year 2018, Vol 7, Issue 12
Abstract
The positive growing economy and the declining poverty rate in ASEAN actually raises the income gap problem between rich and poor. Therefore, ASEAN countries shift their development focus on achieving inclusive growth. The measurement of inclusive growth coefficient in this study used the PovertyEquivalent Growth Rate (PEGR) method, while the factors affecting inclusive growth are obtained from panel data models. The results concluded that Cambodia and Vietnam have an improvement on the inclusive growth over six years, whereas 5 other countries have deteriorated. One interesting finding on panel data estimation is that credit to the private sector has a negative impact on inclusive growth.
