Acute issues of sentence serving by a woman with a child in social rehabilitation unit

Abstract
The article deals with practical implementation of amendments to the Criminal Correctional Code of Ukraine which regulate serving of custodial sentences by women. Mach attention is paid to innovative system of executing sentences, which provides for an imprisoned woman residing with a child to be transferred to a social rehabilitation unit. Further it goes on to analyse the causes which prevent this law from being executed. It is defined that regulation in terms of women with children transferring is not backed sufficiently with normative documents and suggests changes to the legislative regulation of the transferral process for this category of incarcerated people are suggested.
