Acute myocardial infarction in elderly patients. How should they be managed?

Abstract
Increasing number of elderly patients (over 75 years of age) results inrising percentage of patients treated with primary coronary angioplasty. The aim of the paper is to discuss the latest results of clinical studies on treatment of acute coronary syndromes in elderly population. Distinctions of elderly cardiology, indications, results and complications of fibrinolytic and invasive strategy are presented. Moreover, complications profile and rules of prevention are presented.
