Journal Title: Journal of the Human and Social Science Researches - Year 2015, Vol 4, Issue 2
Abstract
The aim of this research is to examine the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the religious commitment scale-short form (RCI-10) (Worthington etc., 2003). Participants were 368 undergreduate students (235 were female and 133 were male) from Sakarya University. A series statisticial analysis was conducted to validity and reliability of scale. The fit indexes of the twodimensional scale were: x²= 109.33, df= 26, RMSEA=.093, CFI=.94, IFI=.94, GFI=.94, SRMR=.053. The corrected item-total correlations of RCI-10 Turkish Form ranged from .37 to .69. The internal consistency coefficient of the scale was .85. Overall findings demonstrated that this scale had high validity and reliability scores and that it may be used as a valid and reliable instrument in order to assess religious commitment levels of individuals.
