Abstract
The article substantiates that today in Ukraine there is an active process of forming the mechanism of administrative and legal regulation of the organization and functioning of investigating units of the State Bureau of Investigations and, accordingly, improving the administrative and legal framework, adopting new legal acts and amending / supplementing existing ones. It is emphasized on the unjustified prolongation of this process, the existing shortcomings of legislation. The administrative and legal basis of the organization and functioning of investigating units of the State Bureau of Investigations is detailed. The provisions of the basic legal acts in this area are described.
