Advanced QSRR Modeling of Organic Pollutants in Natural Water and Wastewater in Gas Chromatography Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry
Journal Title: Chemical Methodologies - Year 2018, Vol 2, Issue 0
Abstract
Water pollution is a major global problem which requires ongoing evaluation and revision of water resource policy at all levels (international down to individual aquifers and wells. It has been suggested that it is the leading worldwide cause of deaths and diseases, and that it accounts for the deaths of more than 14,000 people daily. Genetic algorithm-partial least square (GA-PLS), Kernel partial least square (GA-KPLS) and Levenberg-Marquardt artificial neural network (L-M ANN) techniques were used to investigate the correlation between retention time (RT) and descriptors for 150 organic contaminants in natural water and wastewater which obtained by gas chromatography coupled to high-resolution time-of-flight mass spectrometry (GC-TOF MS). The L-M ANN model gave a significantly better performance than the other models. This indicates that L-M ANN can be used as an alternative modeling tool for quantitative structure–retention relationship (QSRR) studies.

In this research, the one-pot multi-component reaction of β-ketoesters with aryl aldehydes and urea/thiourea has been performed using a dual-functional ionic liquid-catalyst namely N1,N1,N2,N2-tetramethylethylenediaminiu...
Improved Photostabilization of Chlorpyrifos Insecticide with Novel Benzil Derivatives
Chlorpyrifos, an organophosphorus insecticide, is widely used in agricultural and non-agricultural areas all over the world. During field application, it readily undergoes degradation due to microbial decomposition, hydr...
Phthalimide Derivatives: New Promising Additives for Functional Electrolyte in Lithium-ion Batteries
Vinylene carbonate (VC) is the most well-known additive for current lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). Low anodic stability or insufficient oxidation stability as a drawback of VC affected LIBs performance, especially in high...
Evaluation of Ground and Excited State Dipole Moments of 2(3)-tetra(tert-butylphenoxy)phthalocyaninato Zinc(II) from Solvatochromic Data
This article presents a semi-empirical determination of ground state dipole moment (g) and excited state dipole moment (e) of 2(3)-tetra(tert-butylphenoxy)phthalocyaninato zinc(II) (ZnTBPc) using the solvatochromic shi...
