Aerodynamic Interference between Oscillating Lifting Surfaces and Fuselage. Part 6: A Panel Method for Non-Lifting Bodies Oscillating in Subsonic Flow
Journal Title: INCAS BULLETIN - Year 2017, Vol 9, Issue 1
Abstract
In the sixth part of this series, we continue our study started in the previous article, i.e., we present the basis of the method for calculating the unsteady airforces on oscillating non-lifting bodies. The method proposed here is a panel one. As it is proved in the previous paper, the potential and velocity induced by a constant source planar panel is composed of two kinds of terms: some of them- the steady terms, can be expressed by the elementary functions; other terms- the unsteady terms cannot and should be calculated numerically. The present paper illustrates how the method proposed here can be used in conjunction with the preceding results.

Tribological performance of the blend PBT and short aramid fibers
Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) and its aramid fiber composite (10 wt.%) were investigated in order to measure their wear and frictional properties under variations of applied load (5 N, 10 N, 15N) and velocity (0.25 m/...
Estimation of Wind Tunnel Corrections Using Potential Models
The evaluation of the tunnel correction remains an actual problem, especially for the effect of tunnel walls. Even if the experimental campaign meets the basic similitude criteria (Mach, Reynolds etc.), the wall effect o...
Definition and discussion of the intrinsic efficiency of winglets
Three simple equations are derived to define the “Intrinsic Aerodynamic Efficiency of Winglets” independent of the horizontal extension of the winglet and independent of the winglet’s (relative) height. This Intrinsic Ae...
Composite material designs for lightweight space packaging structures
This paper presents a study on advanced material designs suitable for lightweight space packaging structures. During this study, several material designs were proposed, evaluated and in the end three packaging structures...
