AGRICULTURE EMPLOYMENTS OF THE POPULACE IN MEDIEVAL GUBIN (ON THE BASE OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL SOURCES)

Abstract
The author draws on the information of archaeological findings discovered during the excavations 1997–2015 field seasons on the territory of annalistic Gubin hill-fort of the XII–XIII cent. (village Gubin, Starokostiantyniv district, Khmelnitsky region), describes the results of research of the land cultivation of this settlement. The article provides an analysis of harnesses, soil cultivation tools, harvesting tools and tools for manual postharvest handling of crops. The author presents a concise period of the development of animal breeding, confirmed by osteological materials. According to the osteological materials, pig-breeding took the first place (28 % from the all discovered bones), the breeding of horses took the second place (25 %), and the cattle took the third place (20 % from the total herd). The crooked scythe is shown in the register of discovered tools that were used in animal breeding. Nails to shoe horses, horse harness with bridle, round metal phalera from the horse bridle and spring scissors for shearing are among the additional equipment.
