Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of the legislative regulation of the terms of pretrial investigation. Particular attention is paid to the practice of the European Court of Human Rights on this issue. It is determined that the recent legislative changes in terms of the regulation of the terms of pre-trial investigation are characterized by inconsistency and inconsistency. Corresponding amendments and additions were proposed in the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
