Alcohol abuse and homelessness
Journal Title: Alkoholizm i Narkomania - Year 2005, Vol 18, Issue 1
Abstract
The qualitative study was devoted to analyse the links between alcohol abuse and homelessness of men residing in Warsaw's shelters and underground warm channels. The process of slipping down to homelessness was caused by such factors as broken links with relatives, and/or imprisoning, and/or kind of work, and/or upbringing in care home for adolescents and in all cases by destructive style of drinking. Continuation of alcohol abuse was the crucial factor, among others, petrifying the state of homelessness.
