AMBUSH IN BUILT-UP AREA IN POLISH UNDERGROUND HOME ARMY TACTICAL DOCTRINE OF URBAN COMBAT. TACTICAL CASE STUDY

Abstract
This article presents a short description of an ambush in a built-up area, as part of the Polish underground Home Army (Armia Krajowa) concept of urban combat. In the first part, the article describes several tactical manuals and concepts of a city ambush of an infantry section. The second part contains a tactical analysis of combat fought on August 5, 1944 by units of 1 Company, “Parasol” Battalion (the famous defence of Michler's mansion), which is an example of ambush implementation for key objective defence.
