An auxiliary psychometric method based on eye movement characteristics
Journal Title: Journal of Air Force Medical University - Year 2023, Vol 44, Issue 10
Abstract
Objective In view of the high subjectivity in the traditional psychometric process and the consumption of a lot of manpower and material resources by structured interviews, an auxiliary psychometric method based on eye movement characteristics is provided to improve the convenience and objectivity of psychometric measurement. Methods The psychometric scale was used as the stimulus of eye movement test to collect the eye movement data of the subjects. The relevant eye movement characteristics such as gaze and saccade were extracted from 56 healthy subjects and 56 unhealthy subjects respectively. The support vector machine eye movement data classification model was established. The differential evolution algorithm was used to optimize the parameters of the model, and used for visual behavior pattern recognition of different groups, so as to realize the psychometric conclusion discrimination of the target groups. Results The average accuracy of mental health discrimination of the subjects was 78. 92% under the stimulation of a single item, and 90. 18% after dimensionality reduction of 261 psychometric items. Conclusion This paper verifies the objectivity and effectiveness of using eye movement characteristics to assist psychometric measurement, which can be used as an objective index of auxiliary psychometric measurement.
