AN EFFICIENT INFORMATION RETRIEVAL (EIR) ALGORITHM FOR PRIVACY PRESERVATION IN WEB SEARCH

Abstract
Internet is occupied largely by the web search engines, to find and access a data. They pose a serious risk of privacy breach over the users. Thus, personalized search engines become the need for facing the privacy challenges. The proposed work presents a simple system architecture that operate with a combined algorithm. The Efficient Information Retrieval (EIR) algorithm and Leveneshstein string matching algorithms are integrated to provide the double benefit of accurate retrieval of results and privacy over the query search. The dataset are chosen by the user after creating a registered profile with the proposed private search engine. Based on the data set the results are displayed for the user query. The results are generalized in a table and are suppressed to avoid privacy breach. The similarity matching algorithm helps to present accurate results to the user. The user identity and the search keywords are preserved. With the proposed system, privacy and accuracy of search results are improved. The system also take less time and low cost of computation. The comparative results are presented for the proposed system against existing greedy IL algorithm.
