Abstract
The factors influencing the life of buildings and structures with the purpose of establishing a rational volume of measuring operations for obtaining data for safe operation of an object are analyzed. There are types of threats of building damage that may have classification characteristics based on the speed of their occurrence. Long-term threats, which can be timely foreseen and timely warned at the expense of normative measures of exploitation, are characterized; instantaneous unpredictable threats (emergencies) that can have catastrophic consequences. In order to obtain some initial data for the development of models and methods for diagnosing the technical condition of buildings and preventing emergencies, a grouping of threats was organized based on the speed of their occurrence: long-term, instantaneous with noticeable manifestations, instantaneous without significant manifestations.
