Analysis of current events: structural impediments to reforms in Ukraine

Abstract
This essay provides an analysis of why reforms are not advancing in Ukraine. It focuses on four explanations: dominance of oligarchs, inefficient economic, in particular, taxation policy, non-competent models of governance, and absence of real political parties. The essay is part of a series of non-peer-reviewed articles designed to explain on-going current events.
