ANALYSIS OF TRIBOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF TWO-COMPONENT, CERAMIC FILLED EPOXY LAYERS UNDER HYDRO-ABRASIVE WEAR CONDITIONS

Journal Title: Tribologia - Year 2015, Vol 259, Issue 1

Abstract

The paper presents the analysis of the abrasive wear of the selected mate-rials used for the regeneration of the main elements of a centrifugal pump. The wear abrasive study was conducted using the ball-cratering method based on the standard PN-EN 1071-6: 2007. Ceramic filled epoxy materials with high abrasion resistance were tested. The comparative materials were made of EN-GJL- 250 cast iron, which are applied to produce elements of pumps working in liquids containing mineral particles. The course of wear of the researched materials was investigated as a function of the wearing distance. The results indicated that the tested layers are characterized with a lower wear intensity compared to the original materials.
