Android Application Based Optical Character Recognition For Malayalam Language

Abstract
Optical character recognition is to recognize alphanumeric or other characters from a digital image. At first the document to be converted will be captured by mobile camera or scanner then the resultant text will be available as word document. Our project is an android based application to recognize the Malayalam language in to clear printed text format. Compared to all Indian languages Malayalam alphabet contains larger number of characters, so it is difficult to recognize Malayalam characters. Every person have their own unique writing styles, so in the case of recognizing handwritten documents will be a great challenge of our project. Our project will ensure better performance with all other existing methods.
