Abstract

The article deals with the investigation of the national cultural heritage and language representation of the animalistic symbolics as a part of the national language world views of the Ukrainian and German linguocultural space. The nature and the essence of the archetype is found out, their meaning for the formation and development of the national mindset is shown. In the article the most traditional for the Ukrainian and German linguocultures animalistic symbols and their semantic filling are disclosed. Thus, for Ukrainian linguoculture the most important animalistic symbols, that have found their expression in the multiple language forms, are the symbols of the dog, horse, pig, bear, wolf, birds and fishes. For the German people these are hare or rabbit, fox, owl, ape, cuckoo, cow, dog and bear. Some of these animalistic archetypes reveal the same features in the both ethnical spaces, but mostly they have different meaning and different semantics in the idioms. The comparison of the semantic filling of the animalistic symbols can play an important role in the theory and practice of translation between the both languages.
