The study included patients hospitalised due to myocardial infarction, with the group under investigation comprising 100 randomly chosen patients: 36 females and 64 males aged between 40 and 78. The research tool was an anonymous questionnaire of own authorship conducted in 2005. Results. The majority of the surveyed did not undergo prophylactic examination.Conclusions. It is advisable to implement educational measures pertaining to the prevention and eradication of the risk factors of the disease.
