ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY OF CARALLIA BRACHIATA

Abstract

The crude extracts such as petroleum, ethyl acetate and methanol of C brachiata were studied for antibacterial and antifungal activity by cup and plate method. All the extracts are active against Micrococcus luteus (Gram +ve) and ethyl acetate and methanol extracts showed good activity against Salmonella typhi (Gram –ve). The extracts also exhibited good activity against Saccharomyces cerevisae.
