Application of Analytic Hierarchy Process to Tunnel Cutting Blasting

Abstract
In order to quantitatively analyze the affecting parameters of the tunnel cutting blasting, the parameter index system of tunnel cutting blasting was established by using the analytic hierarchy process ( AHP) . The importance of each affecting parameter was calculated. The results show that the tilt angle of cuthole, depth of cuthole and unit volume of explosive consumption are the main control parameters which influence the cutting effect. Based on the above main control parameters, the hole blasting parameters of cutting area were redesigned in the engineering example. The analysis of field measured data show that the perforation utilization reaches to 92%, the drilling blasting time is shortened and the construction progress is obviously accelerated. So the accuracy of the conclusions obtained by using AHP to analyze the affecting parameters of tunnel cutting blasting is further verified.
