Journal Title: Problems of Management in the 21st Century - Year 2011, Vol 2, Issue 12
Abstract
It is well established that the ERP systems represent transaction processing systems and are thus as such not suitable for controlling and monitoring the production in real time. Hence, a comprehensive solution proves the most efficient, ensuring connection between the process level, representing collection of actual measurements (cycle time, temperature, pressure, etc.), and business level which facilitates decision-making. The present paper focuses on the development of a comprehensive integration between the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Manufacturing E ecuting System (MES) system, which System (MES) system, which enables data refreshing in real time irrespective as to which the information system the change has been triggered in. Integration is performed on the basis of the Intermediate Document (IDoc) message, which enables data echange between two databases. A new model of numbering is introduced for following cost-effectiveness of production activities. Said model allows for an efficient inspection and overview of the entire process from the design to implementation.
