Aproximación al fotoperiodismo digital contemporáneo
Journal Title: Naukowy Przegląd Dziennikarski - Year 2014, Vol 1, Issue 2
Abstract
Digital media and Internet have led fundamental changes in journalism, from production to consumption. After a slow start, the media have focused on the network to offer a clearly differentiated digital journalism that it was in paper before. In this context, contemporary photojournalism is developing new audiovisual formats. The term photojournalism itself is too narrow to frame visual journalism pieces that are being published today. Nowadays, photojournalists use all available languages: text, audio, photography and video, to create complex narratives serving the journalistic communication. At the same time, the advent of Internet has also affected directly the industry of media. The economic crisis, due to the fall in advertising revenue between other reasons, has forced professionals of graphic information to start careers as freelance. This situation, undoubtedly precarious talking in economic terms, it also offers freedom to choose projects that interest them and bring out their creativity. So today photojournalists are expanding the boundaries of their profession, not only from a technical point of view but also artistic, hybridizing their work with the documentary and art.
