Del cerebro a la palma de la mano: el viaje de la memoria en el siglo XXI

Abstract
This article focuses on the relations between the smartphones and the memory. The first part presents the features of the postmodern age, characterized by an acceleration and liquidity of interpersonal relations, and the idea of the network society. Next, it explains the concept of memory in different contexts: biological, sociological and journalistic. It emphasises the studies of collective, digital, globital and media memory. In the third part there is an analysis of the influence of the new mobile technologies in the memory process in the context of a new society. The transfer of a great part of the activities to the mobile phones connected to Internet, creates a new environment to the emergence of an ubiquitous, digital and flexible external memory.
