AREST proposal to strengthen scientific skills in primary school students in Piura

Abstract
0169ABSTRACTNowadays, the educational field demands more and more knowledge, since the situations experienced today require a subject that responds to the demands of the moment and that manages his emotions in an adequate manner, constructs his own significant learning and demonstrates a satisfactory performance, both academically and in the workplace.The objective of the research presented is to propose the AREST Plan to strengthen scientific competencies in fifth grade students in Piura. Based on the positivist paradigm was used, being its approach quantitative, with a non-experimental design, cross-sectional and descriptive level feasible project type.The selected sample consisted of 29 students, the data collection technique was the survey and its instrument was the questionnaire, and the statistical study was used to analyze the data. The results showed that 62.1% (18) of the students were at a low level and 31.1% (9) at a very low level.After analyzing the data collected, the diagnosis was based on the AREST Plan, which is based on Bar-On's Emotional-Social Intelligence model with the Emotional Quotient Inventory. The skills of assertiveness, social responsibility, empathy, problem solving and stress tolerance were selected.In addition, it is linked to Daniel Goleman's Emotional Intelligence theory. In conclusion, the AREST Plan is an emotional education proposal composed of strategies based on constructivism, inserted in the area of science and technology, to strengthen their scientific competencies
