ASSISTÊNCIA À SAÚDE NA FRONTEIRA COM O URUGUAI: ESTRATÉGIAS PARA QUALIFICAÇÃO DE ATENDIMENTO PELO SUS

Abstract
The border’s resident population between Brazil and Uruguay, according to data from CENSO 2010 represents 3% of the residents in Rio Grande do Sul and 4,29% of uruguayans. It has a low Human Development Index (HDI), because of this, the border towns are subject to different policies or actions by the federal government, with various programs proposed. From the perspective of health care, may be noticed peculiarities as the elaboration of a specific project to finance actions, the Integrate Border Health Sistem (SIS Border), and the possibility of hiring uruguayan medical specialists working for Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS). This paper aims to give an overview on how these actions are being implemented in this border strip and perform a reflection about these peculiarities, and the impact of recruitment of Uruguayan doctors in the press of Rio Grande do Sul.
