AUSTRIAN PARLIAMENTARY DEVELOPMENT AND PECULIARITIES OF ITS IMPLEMENTATION IN A GALICIAN

Abstract
The article describes the prerequisites and the main stages of establishing the constitutional system in the Habsburg Empire, especially the part that regulated the organization and activities of representative bodies in the territories – the Regional Sejm, which formed the system of parliamentary. Sejm’s performed representative functions and turned into centers of political life in the region. On the example of the Galician Sejm, the level of public perception of the work of a representative body, the level of political tension on the eve and during the election of cadences, as well as the main directions of its rule-making activities are revealed. Particular attention is drawn to the norms of electoral legislation, which has undergone several reforms and was a factor in the growth of the Polish-Ukrainian political opposition.
