Barriers to the development and operation of small and medium enterprises

Abstract
Small and medium enterprises are crucial for the functioning of the Polish economy, contributing to the economic growth of the country. However, companies in this sector face many barriers to their development. The paper presents results of studies conducted in a group of entrepreneurs from the region of Silesia. The aim of the study was to find out the opinions of entrepreneurs about the various difficulties encountered in their work and to answer the question to what extent the economic crisis of recent years has affected the condition of the surveyed enterprises.
