Abstract
The axiological principles of the formation of the consciousness of a modern Orthodox Christian are considered. The concept of tolerance is considered in the context of the secularization of modern European society. The Christian values identical to Ukrainian culture are outlined, among them: respect for human dignity, freedom, tolerance, justice, responsibility, mercy, peacekeeping and reconciliation.
